I got this as a sample from Hip2Save, and I'm so glad I discovered this.
One night we had Teriyaki Chicken, and the pans we used were horrible at being a non-stick pan. Crust from the burnt sauce and just thick residue from cooking, it makes it hard to even soak overnight! I decided to try out this Dawn Soap.Shown above are my two pans siaked with hot water, and drizzled with equal amounts of Dawn Overnight Soaking Power in 5 Minutes Soap.
I didn't see any effect in 5 minutes. I left it in for 5 more minutes, 10 minutes total, and I could see the thick film of burnt Teriyaki Sauce rising off from the pan, that was cool to watch. I also saw the oil, water, and Dawn Soap curdle like how you would see milk and hot coffee do, I'm assuming the soap was at work. This soap had a strong scent of a shampoo, but it wasn't chemical scented.
Above is after the ten minutes, the white worm looking forms are actually the oily and burnt sauce from the bottom of the pan lifting up.It was cool to watch.
Without rinsing it out, just dumping all of the water out, the whole pan was clean. It did look like it had that oily film, where you need to wash more than once or even twice to get the oil out of your pan, but it was actually just the soap itself, that when rinsed off with hot or warm water, the pan came out nice and clean with no evidence of the horrible memory of the burnt residue.
I'm not sure how much a bottle of this Dawn Soap costs, but I say it's a great investment if you don't have time on your hands to scrub dishes, or even just for the holidays. Spend less time on dishes and more on Family time.
