Karen Murrell Lipsticks

Karen Murell Lipsticks

Hello my lovelies! I'm happy to announce that my research is over for my Karen Murrell lipsticks review. I've tried each lipstick, alternating them with lipgloss, with lip balm, exfoliating my lips, without exfoliated lips, kissed, and not kissed!

Be that as it may, I'll do a little disclaimer so we can get to the fun stuff!I did receive these for free, in exchange for an honest and thorough review. Any opinions I state on this blog post or via YouTube video, they are my own honest opinions 100%!

So now for the break down.Karen Murrell isn't just a makeup line, it's also a skin care line with a love for Mother Nature.Their lipstick packaging, box and canisters are eco friendly, it will start to decompose within 100 days! It also is a greenhouse gas neutral, meaning that it minimizes emissions that cause the oh so famous villain, global warming, which is a big deal, don't you think? KarenMurrell.com is an organic certified makeup company, meaning it's officially been inspected by the ECOCERT, which is a worldwide organizationthat conducts inspections in over 80 countries worldwide! Basically, it means this makeup, skincare website is trying to be as natural and green as possible, "

Now to the lipsticks, finally! I received four lipsticks total, all in great shape, wrapped in a gold and black thread ribbon, along with a business card. I have never had any international mail before, so this was exciting to get a New Zealand Air package! I received my package within a week and a half, give or take since the offer to try out these lipsticks.

The packaging was simple but pretty, and I love that everything was intact. Their motto for their lipstick line is "Nothing nasty touches my lips", a very quirky yet relate able quote! Me gusto! My package also included with a business card and a lot of New Zealand shredded filling, which is very creative since they live up to what they stand for, being kind to mother nature!
These lip canisters are sleek, gorgeous, and professional looking. It reminds me of the Revlon lustrous lipsticks without the gold trimming and shiny finish. "KM", standing for Karen Murrell, and their motto again," nothing nasty touches my lips" on the canister in white, an iconic item! I forgot to capture the bottoms, but they state " Bury me, I'm kind to the earth.", another hint saying they care about mother earth!:)
With Flash: From left to right, Fuschia Shock, Carnation Mist, Sandstorm, and Coral Dawn.
Without flash: Left to right:  Fuschia Shock, Carnation Mist, Sandstorm, and Coral Dawn.
Being a hobby painter, and a crafty lady, I love this packaging! It's very artsy and colorful, yet professional like and subtle to the eye. The box also states that it's safe to bury in the earth.
These boxes also have the list of ingredients and what they might contain, these lipsticks last for 12 months, or should be used within a year.
The business card shown is so cute and classy, and the packaging of the lipstick canisters are easily to be removed if in a hurry, no need to open stubborn lids, all you need to do is slide it out!
Carnation Mist is my most grabbed, daily lipstick when trying these lipsticks out for a couple of weeks. It's a mauve, rose lipstick color, creamy, and has a semi matte finish.
When I wore this the first time, I have to say, I felt like Nick Minaj! This Barbie Fuschia does have a purple tone to it, but it doesn't make my teeth look like a pale ashy yellow like other bold colored lipstick. This is also a semi matte finish when applied.
Sandstorm , a nude beige color, is similar to Revlon's Soft Nude, only Sandstorm is creamier.I feel there is more of a pink tone than orange, I love this nude color, it seems a bit pale and pastel on camera, but when in person it mutes my rosy lips and just keeps it a subtle cream color, not like other nude lipsticks, they make me feel like Snooki! This also comes out as a semi matte finish when applied.

Coral Dawn is a Tangerine, orange, blue toned lipstick. I had a coral lipstick once, and I hated it, it made my skin look ashy, my teeth didn't love it so much either. But Coral Dawn is almost a fire engine red, yet not really. More like a mix between the Coral Tangerine and the Fire Engine Red. I love it! It's not over bearing, but it's still a bold color, yet wearable. Like the other lipsticks, this applies as a semi matte finish.

Now for the " science" to these beauties.

I have alternated each lipstick, and all in all, the result came out above average. The staying power is awesome. As most of you know, I'm a newlywed, so the Honey moon phase is still going, and I love to kiss my hubby! He doesn't, the fact that I love wearing makeup is a challenge, but with these lipsticks, even a peck on the cheek, it transfers as a clear sheer like lipstick, no color, but of course if I was to smudge it all over his face, of course the color would transfer!

I've topped these off with lipglosses, my I-Candy Couture glosses and Loreal Colour Rich Le Gloss are of two different consistencies, and these lipsticks hold up to it. No feathering, no color movement, no fading! Although, I don't recommend testing it out while you're eating or drinking. It WILL transfer, no doubt. But I don't mind reapplying it.

As for Color power, these are amazing. I usually have to use a lipliner and then concealer, and then apply my lipstick color to get this awesome color payoff. With these Karen Murrell lipsticks, I only need to use the lipstick alone. I do recommend though, if you are more of a Barbie lip girl, to use a matching or similar lip liner pencil for more staying power and color payoff. I like the sheer color alone, but with a lip liner it'll be phenomenal.

The lipstick canisters are sturdy, I tell ya! I interchange my makeup bag, my main purse, every week, because I love variety. These still have no scratch on them, and they have a matte finish to it, so that's pretty impressive! I also love that they are easy to open and close, but hard to open by themselves. When twisting the tube, there is no locks, so be careful to how much you twist. The Sleek packaging is enough appeal for me!

When applied from the tube, these are sturdy suckers! I have a hard had when applying my lipstick products, and usually I'll dent, bend, or even injure a fellow lipstick because their lipstick is too creamy. These lipsticks are creamy, but not so much where it moves from your tube to your floor. No shakiness to the tube itself, so it's durable even for the shakiest hands:).

Every girl that loves beauty products, they love to save, don't you? These lipsticks retail for $33 NZD, in USD currency it's $22 and some change, not including tax and processing, and shipping and handling, etc. Do I suggest these to a person that loves to invest in their makeup collection? Of course, these are worth it! But, if you're like me, unemployed, I would only buy these one by one, saving little by little until I could get the complete collection! I wouldn't mind, since these are worth it.

I hope you all like my little review on these Karen Murrell lipsticks, I absolutely adore these, and I hope you will too!
