I used to be the girl that loved purchasing tons of drugstore makeup products, including makeup remover. Thing is, there are always hits and misses. Plus, with this economy and I'm still at an all time low at unemployment, it really sucks when you want something so bad but you know you can't afford it. My solution, substitution.
I would always purchase makeup removers, but they were always too pricey for me, yet I needed them because I started to use waterproof makeup in my beauty routine. Then I found a video Michelle Phan had made when she was in the "spotlight". She had made her own inexpensive makeup remover, and you could get the materials from any department store, grocery store, natural food store! Here's my take of this wonderful invention!
First you're going to need these things:
* Empty travel sized bottle of your choice
*100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
*Aloe Vera Juice Drink with Honey
*Cotton pads, Cotton balls, Cotton squares
Olive oil is one of those magical substances that is good for almost everything--your diet, your skin, your hands and nails, and your hair. Prized for its cosmetic uses since ancient times, olive oil is relatively inexpensive and can be purchased in most grocery stores.
Use extra virgin, as brands labeled "pure" and "light" have been chemically processed. Because the oil's fat composition is very similar to that of human skin, it rarely causes allergic reactions. In addition, it's absorbed quickly and helps lock in moisture in the skin. The high percentage of unsaturated fat and vitamins A and E, helpful in preventing sun damage, also work on the outside to soothe and replenish, particularly sensitive skin. It is also pure, and unmixed with anything but water, unlike other oils.

All you need is to pour 3 parts worth of Aloe Vera into your travel sized bottle, then 1 part olive oil. You don't need that much olive oil, being that you are using extra virgin olive oil!
Shake it up so both solutions will mix together, and carefull soak your cotton pad or cotton ball with this mixture and apply it to your skin to drink it up! When using it to remove makeup, gently apply it to your eyelid, let it soak for about 7 seconds, then gently wipe your makeup downward, and repeat the process until your makeup is gone. This works just as great as Neutrogena's makeup remover in a bottle, and I absolutely love my substitution of makeup remover:)
